Brian, no disrespect intended but saying all politicians are evil or ineffectual is most likely not true. It is bad for morale to use a lawnmover to weed your garden, you cut down the desireables with the undesireables. I have written things like this as well in the past, but I do not think alll politicians are evil. As someone once said, people get the governments they deserve. (don't know if thats true but its worth a thought.) BTW, when you recognized me at dragon con and said "welcome, glad you made it!" you made my day! Thanks for caring for we fans who appreciate you! Thanks again Brian!

quixote !!
Thanks for the note. I actually didn't say that all politicians are evil or ineffectual. I admit I generalized, but what I said was that they don't seem to understand that a few direct and well chosen words are more effective than the 'poli-talk' that most use. We are currently in the midst of a national election in Canada, and the leaders of the 3 main parties leave little to admire - that makes me feel a bit more acute about their double talk that would normally be the case. But thanks for your input.. I appreciate it. Brian

Blown from the country wondering where the one tree ever went Riding on the highway wondering where the right way got so bent Walking up that stairway wondering if the old way is what you meant
Glad to walk the stalk Here's the hand
Blown from the country knowing this where love left scared mark Taste this unfamiliar kiss Knowing the tree , touching bark Around like wind and Blast and last fire Left are angels none are the wings.
Smirk and walk down bare Here's the hand And winglesss do I offer you flight... And so do we and do we and do we offer flight to the tongueless and this is to be ever known as the language of our angels

Hey, Brian, I decided I'd better look around the old stuff in case the board moves. I've always been to busy jumping up to do stuff. But I found this poem you wrote, it's my favorite one so far. Would you mind expounding a little on the thought behind it? It feels like you are talking about the long eons of the earth, and how history and humanity are part of that time passing by. I'm sure there's more, or maybe I'm askew. Janika Boy, I hope I am not getting too long winded about all this. AFTER THE END The long world, the old world The cold world. Too long ago, born in tears, Shell breaking from shell. Shell shedding shell, Life shedding life, Birth shedding birth. Across the backs Under the bellies Catching the eye Holding the hand Hand holding hand. Surprised we stand, Shedding surprise. Love is born in comfort, Is grown only In the soft soil of peace. War in our war Breeds no love. Love can not be fought for. The long love, the old love The cold love. Too soon ago, born in peace, Peace breaking from peace, Peace shedding peace, Love shedding love, Life shedding life Worlds shedding worlds.

we even invented GOD to help us overcome our fear of the very process that helped us invent him. Final thought....after death, who has really come back ? I say, don't think about coming back, think about what you will leave behind. Every thing we do, every thought, every word we write or utter, will have an impact on the genetic make-up of those who come after us. From the time of LUCY to now, we are human. We may not be the answer.
wow brian, talk about hitting the nail on the head (instead of the hand palm) you really are a man of many talents, my class 4 hat off to you ;-) ld love to visualising one of your works ;-)

To respond to Janika's question of Dec. 28th ( and sorry for the delay, Janika), I was thinking about different evolutions - of the earth,of species, of mankind, of love - and that change may not necessarily be progress. In a sense , we are powerless to change the cycles, but it sure wouldn't hurt if we took more care of where we are while we are here, because god is only an idea. We control what happens and we alone. brian

You know, Thespyma, I can see that. Sadly, though, no music - it is just the product of some recollections bouncing around in my brain. brian

Wow, It is beautiful. Sounds like song lyrics... I think the same, some are suitable for slow and silence music other are suitable for dark and hard sounds
