I just want to get something cleared up about some caricature tshirts of the lexx cast that were being sold by a booth at megacon. Apparently the people running the booth were telling lexxfans that were buying the tshirts that the lexx cast would sign them for free. That was misleading, incorrect and an improper thing to say. When people brought these tshirts up to the lexx cast, they were not aware of this at all, at first they signed them for free, but the cast were there to make some money from their autographs. They very graciously did sign some of the tshirts, but misleading the fans who bought them is NOT KOSHER. If anyone has any doubts about this, just ask Brian yourself, that they did not sanction this by this booth.

Brian, I thank you very much for the wonderful time I spent with you, Michael and Xenia at the lexx cast signing table. Xenia kissed me on the cheek and was very happy I was there 'taking care of her' as she said, and Michael asking me to sit in his spot at the table as was off doing his interview was great, I got to meet alot of the other fans and appreciated the times I spent with all of you. You are a very gracious, charming, intelligent, kind and regular guy, you are very warm, personable and just a blast to hang out with. The nights at the bar and at the lexx cast party with you and Michael were so awesome. I'm glad I was there to spend that time with all of you. Xenia is very sweet and kind and we had fun with girl talk, and Michael is extremely intelligent on so many subjects, we all had a great time talking with and spending time with all of you. I appreciate how you are so personal with the fans and make them feel like a part of the lexx family. Michael really had a great time with the fans, and was very lively and animated and Xenia was very gracious, I rarely see that in any other kind of fandom that's out there and again, I thank you for being who you are and for treating all of us that came to see you so warmly.
I also want to say a special Thank you to Bailey-BK, your convention manager, he is very professional, a very hard worker, and you couldn't ask for a more honest good guy. I appreciate you and what you have done for the cast and I consider you a very good friend.
I also want to thank Maya for all that she did, her megacon pics were a hit, and she had some made for the lexx cast signing table, because people just loved them and wanted some, and she was also very gracious in giving some of her own pictures she had made to get signed to other lexx fans that were just standing in line to get autographs and admired the pictures. You were tireless at this convention no matter how tired you were and you deserve much respect for everything you did.
It was sad that Ketana, Dreams of Kai and Aeonflux couldn't make it to the con from the east coast as their flights were cancelled because of the bad weather, but we did get some things for you and we never forgot you. I truly am sad that you weren't able to make it, but we brought back memories for you.
I salute the cast of Lexx for their generousity, kind hearts and warmth.
Thank you.

I'd like to extend a special thank-you to Brian Downey whose generosity knows no bounds, who was besieged by constant aggravation because of some greedy fans, and who is a class act all the way. You rock dude, I'm sending you some Live Clapton.

I would like to thank Brian Downey for being such a gracious and wonderful man. He, Michael and Xenia spent time with the fans even after the convention was done for the day and made the whole experience so memorable for everyone. A thank you Maya, who contributed so much with pictures, posters, and planning. Also, thank you BK for doing such a wonderful job as the con manager and taking care of not only the cast but also the fans. Despite some difficulties the convention was a rousing success.
Big hugs to all I met there. I miss you all already!

First , I am the one who must thank YOU FOLKS for being such interesting, charming, warm and kind people. I can't tell you just how much I was touched by your generous attention. You know, although it is always good to make enough money to cover our expenses, being there is much more about having a chance to meet you face to face, and to share some time , some stories, and some fun with YOU guys It meant so very, very much to meet everyone who has had an interest in our small show, and it meant the world to be able to sit, talk and share time with those of you who were able to be with us away from the crowds and noise of the convention floor... THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart !!!! I truly hope we can do it again sometime before too long.
Now to other business.... I think a lot of you know that to say I was angry with Frank Shannon and Janika is an understatement of the highest order.. I am still LIVID!! Although I hated that t-shirt Frank was selling, that may be just a matter of taste. The fact that he did not even have the courtesy to ask us or Alliance Atlantis if it was all right is unforgivable. It is even more outrageous that he told people who bought that t-shirt that we would sign it for free. That is incredibly creepy. As a result, Frank will no longer be welcome in here - Frank will no longer be welcome to share any convention floor with us. I will let him know that if he posts ANY images of me on ANY site, without my permission IN WRITING, I will take serious action. The same goes for Janika. Her behaviour was also unacceptable. Those images of cast members holding the stupiud t-shirt was meant for the sole use of the people who were sucked into buying the thing, and NOT for any other purpose, and was certainly never intended for ANY sort of distribution including the posting of those photos on ANY site. Frank will be instructed to remove those photos. Janika will be instructed to NEVER print, post, or sell any image of any of us without our written permission.... which neither Frank, or Janika will ever get. I am very sorry that I have to do this. If they had behaved with decency and had done what any sane person would have done, I would never have had to write this. I am sure that at one time, they understood the limits of what was acceptabe, and perhaps one day they will again know this.
Most of you know that everyone is welcome at any table at which I sit, in a convention setting or not, and all I ever ask is that you behave with common courtesy, decency and at least a modicum of politness. I am a big boy, and I never wish to belong to any "camp" or any "faction", and I do not engage in any fan conflict, unless it shows up on this site. I have always tried my best to be fair and accommodating and understanding of the views and attitudes of anyone I meet, whether it occurs in here, at a convention, or anywhere else. I fid it both angering and sad that Janika and Frank have so misunderstood proper decorum and have behaved in such an improper way. I simply will not tolerate it. As a last note , I would ask anyone who reads this to inform me of any rants, any attacks, any smut, any attempt at justification that either Frank (chatins) or Janika may post on any blog, or on any site, or if any images of any of us appear on any of their locations. Frank also had NO permission to videotape us at the panel. If any of that footage shows up anywhere, I want to know. It may become necessary to inform my representatives and/or the representatives of Alliance Atlantis if either of them continue to break copyright and person identity laws...... Again I am so, very , very sorry that this had to happen. It is the one and only sour note in an otherwise wonderful weekend.... Millions of thanks to everyone who was there and buckets of affection to all.... I hope everyone had a safe and easy trip back home.
Brian

Thank you Brian for making the trip everything I was hoping it could be. I had a wonderful time meeting people from the boards face to face and making new friends, as well as spending time with You and Xenia and Michael. It's been a wonderful time!

Hello Sir, I hope you made it home safe and sound. Did the banner I sent to Bailey for you make it? It should have been there in days ahead of time, but sending in care of a guest at a hotel is alway fraught with disaster. Anyhow, I do hope it made it to Mega Con and then back to Halifax safely. Take care, hope to see ya next time you are in the states. M.

I've uploaded a small MM video from my camera and some MegaCon pics of the cast, with more coming. We had pre-approved authorization to film the cast and panel and will soon have video coming out of that, we also have an authorized Michael McManus interview from Megacon. In the meantime please enjoy some pictures of the cast at their signing table and Michael talking about a season one picture - www.lexxverse.com/view_topic.php?id=275&forum_id=13Brian happily opens a present we gave him as a thank you for all he does for the fans, it's a flask with soft buttery leather on the outside of the canadian maple leaf flag -

The banner did make it's appearance. At first the Hotel denied they recieved it, and we thought they'd lost it. It was one of many mishaps the hotel rained on us all. The banner finally showed up on Friday night in the Lexx cast party room as if by magic. The banner was duly displayed and everyone remarked how cool it was that it glowed in the dark.

I'm glad everyone had a wonderful time. I'm only sorry I was unable to make it.
But it's a real shame some ppl that call them selfs fans have to carry on the way they did but in the end it's their loss not anybody else's.

Ah, thanks Aphroditeschild for the update. I was worried that they would not have a banner for their table. Bummer about it being missing on Friday, but at least it was there for the rest of the con. Hope you all had a good time at the party!

Brian, it was fun seeing you and Michael and Xenia at megacon. I didn't expect to actually talk to anyone but fans when I bought tickets, I would never have imagined what a treat I was going to get.
I wish the party had not been dominated by political conversation, though. I would have liked to have had more time with Michael and Brian and less time with conversation about Iraq. Also it seemed like you would have pointed out a lot more about your video if there had been room for such attention, which I would really have enjoyed. Oh well.
I will thoroughly enjoy watching the DVDs you were selling. (Incidentally, I might go to Kanchaburi some day not to far away from now. It might be interesting to look at some of the places you shot there. You said there was no town, but where was the bus station that was in the video?)
Sadly, I'm rather disturbed by this taking sides with one group of fans against another group of fans, especially since I gather there is some history to this that I'm a newcomer to. I didn't know of any of the fans that were at the convention aside from reading some posts on various boards, before the convention sporadicly for about a month. I don't know what to make of the dispute.
It's clearly wrong for a group to abuse you and Michael and Xenia by not getting permission and telling people that you would sign their shirts for free for people. But, do we know that that really happened? I think there are at least a couple of levels of indirection to this story. For example, if the shirt singing issue come to your attention because a person came up to get their shirt signed and told you that they were told that they could get their shirt signed for free, there are many things that could have been said to that person to make them think they could get their shirt signed for free, without it being the direct intentional statement, "go there and they will sign your shirt for free". So, it's at least 2 different people's interpretation of something that was supposedly said.
When resentment enters the picture in a dispute it becomes very difficult to see where responsibility lies. Only each individual act is wrong or right. A history of a dispute is usually very clouded by resentments. I gather resentment is part of this.
My impression is that there is some degree of good will that must be involved in putting together a table in your honor at the convention, even if they have abused you in the process.
If they are really just out to scam people, it seems like a rather odd scamming tactic, and their posts on other boards make it seem like they have genuine awe and respect for you. But, I haven't read much of that and again there is a huge chunk of this story I don't know about.
You publicly siding with one resentment group against the other must be seriously heartbreaking to some people that seem to love you.
The wrong seems to be against you by the people at the fan table. Taking it up with them, I understand. Throwing their apparent rivals a bone in the process, I find confusing.
