Lovely Though it does make the one I was writing about tides look crap, heh heh. (Goblin screws the pages up, throws them away, and wanders off to seek inspiration in a coffee cup)

Okay, I HAD...... to do it the poetry gods have to be appeased. This is how I see it, ya see? Even if I post my bad attempts it only makes Mr. D's look better so I say what the hay! And a 1 and a 2 and a 3 (you notice I'm stalling here Is there a pattern to our selection of the souls we see everyday: And what of those we are kin and kind to, make love to, Or just roughly push away: With free-flowing randomness do they flit through our unfathomable lives: Or do they, as autumnal birds on wing, Follow a hidden path across our own personal sky? Alright, give me a break ,I just wrote it today; it needs fine tuning!!!! May be I'll be just

Some things are harder to describe than others.Sad, but ever so true, that some things will NEVER lend themselves to be described by the written word - even things which are the most deeply felt and most in need of simple sharing.
And swings around me Heavens of silken skin Like water too cold Like too soon the ebb of word Like too quick the touch of hand
And swings around me Heavens of unknown scents Like wind of unwalked land Like glows of unnamable stars Like the unnamed child of wish
And swings around me Heavens of up sun sky Like green of distant thought Like waves of seas so dry Like love

You may be able to guess what I think of world leaders, and CNN after reading this. It is a bit old... a reaction to an earlier "military action". There is a HUGE gap between political 'leaders' and the kids facing the bullets and bombs on both sides.
OVERNIGHT NEWS
Men with striped ties explain why our world is wrong. Men with deeper voices and lines on their faces tell us what our only choices are. Men with serious minds on their serious frowns choose our wars for us, and decide who will die for their arguments. Men who have never known the simple, awful agony of hitting another on the face, decide who must kill. Men who can't know compromise, who praise our difficulties, who are sure we understand, and who lived one summer without a vacation, leave the dying to others.

Wow, Brian, That's the way I sometimes feel about newscasters; but then, you put the words right into my mouth. May be someday I can write a poem about nature & things; I may e-mail them to you before I post them. Nice work & very deep.

Thanks ! I have a couple in the works. I would have more, but the mess with Lloyd Lowe has been taking up a lot of my time - way more than the man deserves, I might add. A number of us cast members have been trying to sort out the awful mess that he left us with. However I will have something new soon.

Poetry! I love a little poetry after supper!
Brian, these are wonderful and beautiful. One of my favourite things to do is read poems aloud with a nice glass of something. Thank you for letting us read these.
Poetry is thoughts that breathe, and words that burn. ~Thomas Gray

No fire of sky No wind No deft hand Could put that face on mine.
No age of man No wisdom No quick mind Could lift my simple thought
No foot of love No eye No bright reach Could calm a fear of love
OK... not every word is good...not every moment is great ... I have read what everybody has written on the poetry page, and you guys deserve to be honored for your words and for your moments. If you have the urge, and the fingers, don't ever stop. Our greatest gift is our ability to be subtle... to communicate so much with a simple look, a well placed word, an expressed thought. Politicians will never understand. Using few words for a broad thought does not mean you are not communicating. Many words , often, hold little thought. We have the greatest gift as humans... Vocalized thought....our thought process is so complex and so full of fear for us, we even invented GOD to help us overcome our fear of the very process that helped us invent him. Final thought....after death, who has really come back ? I say, don't think about coming back, think about what you will leave behind. Every thing we do, every thought, every word we write or utter, will have an impact on the genetic make-up of those who come after us. From the time of LUCY to now, we are human. We may not be the answer.
