Hi !
In response to the message Thomas left on May 15th, I NEVER considered anything about LEXX "just a job" . Not, Thomas, that I mean to jump on you for any reason. I'd just like it to be clear . I think my past support of fans of LEXX (like at the UnCons, and in answering both land mail and email) must surely show that this , to me , was, and is , far more than 'just a job'. I am not blowing my horn. I believe that any show that gets support from viewers owes something to those viewers, and a large part of that debt is to remind the viewers that they are part of the entire process....
Now, I AM at fault for not remembering some details of certain shows.... I simply assume I know the final result of our work, because , say, in order to get one hour of TV out there, if you work really hard, you will work about 18 hours a day for 6 days a week for months on end. And in any given day, you might be shooting parts of 3 or 4 different episodes.... buit in spite of it all, you just figure you have every word of every episode entrenched forever on your memory... I think what we wind up with is a salad of images and scripts as a memory.
I rarely re-visit a viewing of the episodes.... I have a feeling that it just might be arrogant or self indulgent. .... although, I must say. of the few episodes I have revisited, I have had a great time.... I still really like the concepts. And the concepts are what made me agree to do the show way back in 1996, when Paul Donovan approached me with the offer......no home planet to defend , no idea of where or in what time we existed, no stupid laser swords or weapons which shot laser beams..... a 2000 year old dead assassin ? HEL - LO !! Some many great ,and anti- conventional ,ideas ! Who could say no !!
No wonder I lose track of certain details at times.. I hope you guys forgive those occasional lapses !
