Ever been watching TV and gotten a craving for something you see advertised? Now the average consumer may not realize it, but advertisers are quite tricky when it comes to subconsciously triggering these cravings. I would like to discuss the commercials of a particular company: Taco Bell. Through visual and aural stimulation, they manage to make me crave it everytime I see a commercial. The colorful placings, steaming and fresh dishes, and that low toned voice saying, "Run for the Border"; cause a psycho-sematic reaction that makes me want to go to Taco Bell. So.......what commercials make you want their products and why? C'mon it can't just be me.................can it?! ;D Bebop

I loathe car adds - its just a car folks, four wheels and engine and some added on bits... One of the researchers here at the Council Council is, or has done, some research on smoking in films and the influence it has. People are infuenced by seeing their favourite actor light up and it doesn't help the quest to stop people smoking (I mean aside from the fact it will kill you, takes away your sense of smell and taste, makes you smell and costs you a lot of money, what has smoking really got to offer, and no, it does keep you thin...). I shall now stand down from my soap box... KRin

Well I dont think there is much out there that i crave. I think its my contempt for propaganda and merchandising. These companies just want to sell stuff and money is whats important to them blah blah blah... However here is an interesting bit of trivia. Did you know that many years ago, the people who filmed coming attractions for movie theaters slipped into the final cut frames of snacks and soda? Of course this was to subliminaly make people want to go get some refreshments and this naughty business was not tolerated for long. As soon as it was discovered this subliminal nonsense was made illiegal. (yes there is a law against it) And the funny part is that people used to get up by the dozens to go the concession stand. I dont buy refreshments at movies theaters though. $30 soda, $70 popcorn, ......... No thanx
