First, I want to wish everybody who is going to be at Dragoncon a very good time, and possibly a bit of relief from the absolute horror that has happened to the Gulf coast.... maybe someone can persuade the organizers to donate some of their profits to disaster relief. Secondly, I have been informed that the convention in St. John's has been cancelled. I had hoped that the organizers might have let people know through this site or their own web site, but.... It seems that sponsors who had committed earlier in the year pulled out at the last minute. One deserter in particular was NTV, a local St. John's TV channel - they never were noted for supporting local talent, or local events in any kind of normal way. I hope no one is too put out by this. It is something over which I have absolutely NO control. Other, more secure things, are being worked on.

That's too bad. What an awful turn of events. I'm sure though, as you say.. that we'll have great things around the corner.
Maybe you all could do a convention here, in my lovely State of Minnesota? That would be awesome.
DragonCon was a lot of fun. This was actually my <first> convention. Man, I'll definitely be doing it again.
Wish you were there.
