Hello there, Mr Downey!
All the way from London, UK, I am entrusting this message to the electrons that form the internet, hoping that it will be picked up somewhere, sometimes...
Anyway...
I joined today your message board, after an invincible impulse took over me, after watching a few episodes of LEXX, to try and see whether the LEXX online community still survived (perhaps in cryostasis)?
Why?
Well, the story so far...
About 10-12 years ago or so, I remember watching this unusual TV series on Channel 5 (land of the TV programs which are not the standard BBC's cup of tea for many).
At the beginning, I could not make heads or tails of it... what is this all about a giant bug? A love-obsessed robot head? A man in black in a see-through freezer?
And the main character... more akin to the everyman, than the usual square-jawed galactic heroes of the sci-fi world...
Something kept drawing me back to it (ok, partially was the amount of babes in the series... )
But one episode started showing me what this was all about: "Brigadoom"
In particular the end, showed a side to Stanley H. Tweedle that the common (not-square-jawed-galactic-hero) has: the capacity, when it needs, to show that everyone can be a hero when needed.
The more I watch the series the more I am impressed by how superlatively you played the character and thus, I thought I'd write a few lines to express my admiration and join the many who are already doing so.
Thanks for the great work you have done on LEXX... and I will have to get hold of a copy of "Hobo with a Shotgun", methinks.
May all of Mantrid drone-arms suffer very serious cramps, should they ever just consider pursuing you...
;D
