Funny that "Just Buried" recently came up, because just about the time it did, I was in negotiations with a production, the director of which is Chaz Thorne, who directed... you know what ! He's a great guy to work with, probably because he has experience as an actor, a writer, a producer, and a director. The wardrobe person did the costumes for "The Conclave" - among others - and the head of the make up department worked on "Just Buried" as well. I'm sure I'll be running into lots of old friends on the crew, and that will be just a great extra treat. The project is called "Whirligig", and I'm playing the guy who makes them. I'll be in Halifax from Feb.24 till very near the end of March, so if anyone's around..... And for those who are familiar with Canadian theatre, or TV, or film, a chap named R.H. Thompson will be working on the shoot as well. The drive back to Halifax from Montreal takes at least 8 hours a day, for 2 days. But, there'll be a little boost to set the wheels rolling - in Monday evening, I'm gonna be up close and.... well, not quite personal .... but up close , with Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck in concert, together ! And to think, just a couple of month's ago I was within spitting distance of 'Steely Dan' in a smallish theatre - their spit, not mine. I guess Montreal does have its benefits, spit not included. brian

I never was that much of a Clapton fan, until I saw him playing for Pink Floyd bassist Roger Waters in 1984. Enjoy the show!

My favorite movie moment is that wierd movie "Blow Up" and the Yardbirds sequence doing "Train keeps a Rolling." I loved Derek and the Dominos. In 1967 my grade school friends in San Francisco had long hair and were playing Cream, "White Room." Well this is 2 years after grade school. www.youtube.com/watch?v=58mQvW0ROag&feature=related

3 days into the shoot, and everybody's in good spirits, in spite of the high winds and very cold weather. Early calls this week - e.g., up at 4am tomorrow, but that's the business, isn't it. BTW type 13, just as a note - I think that's Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck... have another look. Whether it's one or the other, both are amazing, aren't they. brian

The Beck-Page era Yardbirds also recorded "Stroll On", a rendering of "Train Kept A-Rollin'" recorded for the Michelangelo Antonioni film Blowup, though Relf changed the lyrics and title to avoid seeking permission from the copyright holder. "Stroll On" features a twin lead-guitar break by Beck and Page. Their appearance in Blowup came after The Who declined and The In-Crowd were unable to attend the filming. The Velvet Underground were also considered for the part but were unable to acquire UK work permits.[4] Director Michelangelo Antonioni instructed Beck to smash his guitar in emulation of The Who's Pete Townshend:[5] the guitar that Beck smashes at the end of their set is a cheap German-made Hofner instrument.

So, the shoot wraps on Friday coming, wrap party on Saturday, possible recovery on Saturday. The crew has been great, and have endured some pretty crappy weather... mostly high winds and very chilly temperatures. The actors can get indoors, away from the nasty conditions, but the crew guys have to stick it out. They deserve a lot of thanks. It'll be a fun film to watch once the post production work has been completed. I'll do my best to get some photos up, but, damn it, I am still using my old Olympus film camera. Maybe I'll go digital to get some production shots. And, spring officially started today. Yahoo ! brian

Film is superior to digital, except all the photo labs process the film, then transfer it to pathetic digital. Remember Pan X...those were the days.
